The Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) System is a nationally recognized skills training and certification system for the Landscape Industry. The WSQ is developed based on adult learning principles and adopts a training and certification approach of job competencies. This will enable training and certification relevant for the job.

The WSQ Higher Certificate in Landscape Operations (Arboriculture) is specially designed for Landscape Technicians in the field of arboriculture and for new entrants who aspire to build a career in the specialist field of arboriculture. CUGE offers 6 Core WSQ units, 7 Sector Core WSQ Units and 3 Elective WSQ units for trainees. To achieve a Full WSQ Qualification of Certificate in Landscape Operations, the trainee will have to be certified competent in 6 Core WSQ units, 7 Sector Core WSQ units and Any 2 Elective WSQ units.
